Story Mode turns a conversation into a vertical story. Each message becomes one full-screen scene that arrives, holds until the narrator finishes the line, then hands over to the next. Colors, gradients, patterns or gameplay footage behind the text. Export vertical for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

The chat that behaves like a story.
Story mode
One message, one full-screen scene. The line arrives on the whole display with its own background, holds for its beat, then the next scene. The story is the stage.
Switch any conversation between the two. The messages stay the same; the delivery changes. A narrated scene holds until the voice finishes reading it, so nothing races past the viewer. Unvoiced scenes use the standard timing and a story can render fully silent when the text should carry it alone.
Scene 03 · The background hub
A different world behind every story.
The Story Mode panel exposes its own Background hub with three labeled groups. Exactly one is active at a time: picking a color clears the image or video, picking a backdrop clears the color. The backdrop stays visible behind every story effect.

A flat color picker plus 12 preset swatches, and 58 curated gradient palettes with a custom builder for 2 to 5 stops of your own. Same data source as the main customizer, so a saved gradient renders identically everywhere.

Backdrop

Pick a single narrator voice and every narrated scene stays on screen until the voice finishes reading it. The line and the pace never fight each other: what the viewer reads is what the viewer hears, at exactly the speed it was meant to land.

What is Story Mode?
Story Mode is a creation format where every message becomes one full-screen story scene, like an Instagram Story or a TikTok slide. Instead of chat bubbles scrolling up a thread, each line arrives on the whole screen, holds, then hands over to the next.
How long does each scene stay on screen?
A narrated scene stays on screen until the voice finishes reading it, so nothing races past. A story without narration uses the standard timing instead and can render fully silent when you want the text to carry the video.
How many scenes can one story have?
Up to 35 scenes on every plan. Your plan message cap applies when it is lower: 20 messages on Free and 30 on Lite.
Can I put gameplay or my own video behind the scenes?
Yes. The Backdrop group runs curated patterns and looping clips on Lite and your own uploads or pasted video links on Creator+. Gameplay footage lands through the paste-a-link flow.
Can a story be silent?
Yes. Narration is optional. A story without a narrator renders silent, which is right when the visuals and the text carry the message.
What does it cost?
Story Mode is available on every plan including Free. The single narrator voice needs Lite or above. Premium cinematic effects need Studio.
